HOW TO SIGN UP FOR MRS. DARRAH’S WELCH PARENT MESSAGES: REMIND 101
Remind101 provides a safe way for teachers to text message students and stay in touch with parents for free. Teachers use remind101.com, the android app or the iOS app to send texts to students and parents phones without ever having to share their own phone number. Students and parents also never have to share their phone number with teachers. Ever. Teachers cannot send individual messages to students or parents, and student/parents cannot reply.
Remind101 is used for field trip reminders, motivational messages, homework, exam reminders, schedule changes, fun facts, and trivia. It’s a great way to communicate information to students and parents safely.
To receive messages via text, text @welchpa to 571-814-3326 Or to receive messages via email, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Math for Kindergarten-5th Grade
IXL is a comprehensive, standards-aligned math program offering unlimited practice in thousands of skills. One of the best things about IXL is that students can access it from school and from home! Students will be able to access IXL Math throughout the summer. Our subscription ends on August 1, 2014. Because we are planning on renewing our license, there shouldn’t be an interruption in accessibility. Students will be promoted in IXL about mid-July.This means that current 5th grade students will lose their account. Incoming kindergarten students will be added to IXL at the start of the 2014-2015 school year.

CASH FOR CLASS!!!
As a newspaper, The Newnan Times-Herald strongly believes in literacy and ensuring your children - our future community leaders -are well-educated about events in Coweta County. To that end, we are conducting a subscription drive contest with a portion of the proceeds of each new subscription sold going back to that student’s school. The proceeds are up to the discretion of each school and we only ask that they be earmarked for literacy, media and/or technology programs. In addition, we will offer a monetary bonus to the school in each division -elementary, middle and high school - that sells the most subscriptions.
For more information, call 770.304.3373 • Offer valid (1 year only) for new and renewal subscriptions.
ONE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION @ $115.00-School receives $25
SIX-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION @ $57.50-School receives $12.50
Per our Student Handbook, we cannot take transportation changes through email, fax or the phone. All changes must be in writing. When a parent emails a transportation change to you, please let them know that we cannot accept it. If there is an emergency, we will try and work with the parent but emailing a change cannot be something that is done on a regular basis.

Sumdog, www.sumdog.com, is an excellent site for learning and practicing math. Students can use the program both at school and at home, earning points to dress up their avatars. Many Coweta County teachers introduced their students to this site, and they report that students love it. Students like that they are able to challenge each other and students from around the world in games. The majority of the math games are free, and the site doesn’t have ads on it.
Coweta schools are participating in a county-wide competition! Click HERE to discover how to join the math fun!!
