Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents that do not have access to the Internet, our school administrators can provide you access to a device for completing the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

Dear Parents,

The Coweta County School System is monitoring tonight’s weather to determine if school operations will proceed normally on Wednesday, January 17.  We are monitoring wind chill forecasts and precipitation forecasts.  If possible, a decision regarding school operations will be made tonight.  Otherwise, a decision will be made in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

After-school activities have been cancelled for Tuesday, January 16.  Please monitor local news and the school system’s website throughout today and in the early morning hours for any change in school operations tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17.  In the event that schools are delayed or closed on Wednesday there are a variety of ways we notify parents:

  • Automated phone call (OneCallNow)
  • Media outlets (television, radio, and media websites)
  • District website (www.cowetaschools.org)
  • Twitter (@CowetaSchools)

If school operations proceed as normal Wednesday morning, please be aware that projected low temperatures and wind conditions have prompted a Wind Chill Advisory for Coweta County on Wednesday.  Frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken.  Children should be dressed warmly with hats and gloves.

Morning bus riders should not be left at bus stops unattended in these conditions.  School buses will wait at designated stops for longer periods to allow students to exit a home or car and board their bus.  Parents of bus riders should also be aware that extremely cold morning temperatures can cause delays on morning routes.

It is important that your child's school has your current emergency contact information, including home and work phone numbers for our calling system.  Please take the time to update that information with your child's school if needed.  Thank you for helping us as we work to keep all of our student safe.
