Principal's Message

Welcome to Brooks Elementary School!

 Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to Brooks Elementary School!  We have had an amazing eight years all due to the efforts put forth by each and every member of our school family.

Administrators and teachers everywhere recognize the important contributions parents make toward a child’s success in school.  There is no question about it -- success at school begins at home.  Parents are the single most important variable in a child’s education and outside experiences.  Parents model both a silent and spoken language in front of their children daily.

One of the hallmarks of an exceptional school is a continuous partnership between the school and parents who work together for the best interest of children.  The close partnership between home and school is one of our noteworthy strengths here at Brooks, and one that I will continue to foster as we grow and learn together in this vastly changing world.

On that note, thank you to our teachers and staff for your hard work preparing your classrooms to provide engaging and supportive learning activities from day one.

Thank you to our parents for being so supportive of our school and teachers, as well as overwhelmingly patient and flexible while allowing us time to work out all the kinks we may find during our first week back.

Thank you to our sweet students for coming to school from the very first day eager to learn and willing to put forth your best effort.   It has been a true joy watching you learn and grow!

As we look forward to the start of a new school year in 2017-18, our faculty is committed to ensuring that each and every child is provided an opportunity to excel academically, physically, and socially.  We know that we can only accomplish this through a true partnership between the school, our parents, and the students.  That being said, Brooks Elementary has a strong tradition of supportive, hard-working parents.  Throughout the year parents have multiple opportunities to develop that partnership in a wide variety of ways.  Parents join the PTSO, volunteer in the classroom, help at the Fall Festival, attend School Council meetings, read to their children daily and help in many other significant ways.  It is important to your child that you are involved in some way at school.  It is a solid, measurable way to let your child(ren) know you think his or her school is important and worth the time, energy and investment.

We have spent a great deal of time this summer reflecting on our journey to this point by reviewing our school improvement goals, studying our students' achievement, and planning for a school year that will bring further growth for our students and our faculty. From immersion within the STEM construct to Arts Integration, our children are continuously engaged in a rigorous curriculum with digital platforms, hands-on differentiated instruction, and purposeful activities designed to encourage and support higher order thinking and deepen your child's understanding of concepts.

After an amazingly successful eight years, I can only imagine where year nine will take each of us.

Again, WELCOME TO BROOKS- my door is always open, and we are glad you are a part of our family!
