Western has 5 county science fair winners!

Five science fair projects from Western Elementary were entered in the Coweta County Science Fair on May 8, 2008 , and all five were winners!

The Nose Knows!

Audrey Denman and Hailey Norton won 1 st place overall in 4 th grade Life Science for their project titled “The Nose Knows”! Their project tested whether girls or boys had a better sense of smell.

Got Milk?

Maycee Dukes and Jonathan Geter won 1 st place overall in 5 th grade Physical Science for their project titled “Got Milk?” Their project tested whether or not the cost of milk affected the taste of milk.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Emily Boone and Summer Adan won 2 nd place overall in 5 th grade Life Science for their project titled “How Does Your Garden Grow?” Their project tested which type of plant food grew plants the best.

Paper, Paper, Paper

Maggie Darracott and Lauren Watkins won 2 nd place overall in 5 th grade Environmental Science for their project titled “Paper, Paper, Paper”. Their project tested which types of paper disintegrate the fastest.

Electricity

Caleb Mayo won 3 rd place overall in 4 th grade Physical Science for his project titled “Will it or Won't It?” His project tested what kinds of materials conduct electricity.
