AFFIDAVITS
To
those of you who have not completed the
affidavit process for this school year,
the deadline is quickly approaching..
Please remember that along with the affidavit
you will need two items for address verification.
We have Notary Publics at school to assist
you with this process. Please call the
school at 770-254-2790 if you have a
question or are not sure whether you
have completed the process or not. The
sad news is that if you do not get the
process completed by December 18, your
child(ren) will be disenrolled from school.
Thank you for your prompt attention to
this matter.
Attendance
Attendance is more important than you might
think. When your child is absent, he/she
misses out on the learning opportunities
of the day, and their absence also has a
direct effect on whether Western Elementary
School meets our Annual Year Progress (AYP)
goals. Let your children know that unless
they are truly sick, they must go to school.
Safety
Please
remember that all parents entering
any school area other than the office need
to sign in and get a Visitor Pass from
the school office. The Visitor Pass should
be visible at all times the visitor is in
the building. Please also remember to buckle
up your children before leaving the school
when you pick them up in the afternoon.
From time to time we need to reach a responsible
adult during the school day concerning an
issue at school. It may be because of a medical
emergency or for a disciplinary issue that
we need to speak to a parent or guardian.
Please be sure that the contact numbers we
have for you are current at all times. If
for some reason the number(s) that you have
on the emergency card are temporarily out
of order, please let us know and give us
a current number of a neighbor or family
member we can contact to get in touch with
you. Thank you for your support.
The holiday season has arrived along with
cooler weather. You can help us identify
your children's coats and sweaters by taking
a minute to put your child's name inside
the clothing. I encourage you to do this
with all new items of clothing your children
will be receiving during the upcoming holidays.
If you will be handing the items down later,
you might put a piece of masking tape inside
the collar and write your child's name on
it. Another thought is to write the name
inside on a pocket lining which is not noticeable
until the pocket lining is pulled out.
Please make sure that when your child leaves
home for school that he/she is dressed appropriately
for the weather. Also remember that our children
are going out for recess and they might need
a jacket or sweater for this activity.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Western
Elementary School I would like to wish you
and your family a safe and happy holiday
season
