Rainforest Layers

Different animals live in different layers in a rainforest.  Yes, a rainforest has layers.  First, there is the forest floor.  It is very dark down at the floor of the forest.  The second layer is the understory.  It is a little brighter here, but not much.  Then there is the canopy. Lots of animals live here in the tall trees.  Last, there is the emergent layer.  This is the layer with the tallest trees.  Not many animals live here at all.  I hope you learned a little or a lot about rainforest layers!
