It's time to catch the Summer Reading Bug! Be sure to read this summer so you can attend our Summer Reading Celebration in August! Here are ways for you to earn rewards for reading this summer:

Summer Readers' Party at Western

Keep a list of books you read this summer. Get a parent to initial each book and turn in the list to your new homeroom teacher in August. You will then be invited to our Summer Readers' Party in August. There will be food and prizes for all who are invited! You can read books, magazines, or even newspapers!

Accelerated Reader Book Finder

Barnes & Noble
Read 8 books (from home, library or bookstores) and write down those books. Take the list in to Barnes & Noble to receive a free book! Visit www.bn.com for more information, or call our local Newnan Barnes and Noble at 770-304-2114.

Hawks & Thrashers

Students in grades K-12 who successfully read at least five books will receive:

· Check It Out Reading Challenge Bookmark (while supplies last)

· A free youth ticket to a 2009-10 Atlanta Hawks regular season game

· A free youth ticket to a 2009-10 Atlanta Thrashers regular season game

The Powell Library (on Hospital Road)

The Powell Library has lots of fun events planned for this summer. Check out their webpage for more information: http://www.newnan-coweta.org/summer.htm . Their reading program, Be Creative, allows your child to earn a certificate and a prize for reading. The program begins May 30^th and ends July 17^th.
