Our author visit was a success! Click here for more information. Our MissionThe mission of Western's library media program reflects the philosophy of the school and the Coweta County school system. Our mission is to support the county curriculum, to provide quality print and electronic resources, to assist students, parents, and staff in becoming effective users of technology, and to promote lifelong learning. Our VisionWe believe that our media center functions as an integral part of the learning process. We believe the media center plays a key role in preparing students to meet the challenges they will face later in life. We want our students to become life-long learners and seekers of knowledge, as well as prominent members of society. Providing them with the reading skills and resources they need will ensure this. The media center will continue to collaborate and form partnerships with faculty and staff, board of education, parents, community, and business members in order to enhance our students' learning experiences.
Schedule & HoursThe library media center operates on a flexible schedule. Students may visit the media center throughout the day individually or in small groups of no more than four from one class. Whole group classes are also scheduled on a daily basis. Research and use of the computers will be limited to one hour. Many activities are occurring in the media center at the same time. Therefore, teachers are urged to have classes on their best behavior. All teachers should plan so that each child will have regular visits to the media center. Students should always have a definite purpose when coming to the media center, whether it be to check out books, conduct research, or take AR tests. Hours of Operations: Teachers 7:30am—3:15pm Parents 7:45am—3:15pm Students 7:45am—2:15pm Contact Information
