What's happening in 5th Grade REACH? Mystery and Suspense! 5th grade REACH students are investigating the genre of mystery. We will identify the elements of a good mystery as we read The Westing Game. The students will also choose their own mystery novel to read at home and create a mystery project. In the study of mystery we will probe some of history's most famous mysteries. The student's will also be writing, editing, and illustrating their very own mystery books! Coming Soon..... After Christmas, we will begin the study of Greek Mythology! Stock Market Game - In October, 5th grade REACH students will participate in an on-line stock market simulation! We will compete with teams from other schools (elementary to high school!) in the area to accumulate the most in the stock market! Students will "buy and sell" stocks as they learn about sound investing. Watch for more information about the Stock Market Game. Accelerated Reader 5th Grade REACH students will set Accelerated Reader goals as part of their REACH expectations! Each student will sign an A.R. contract that includes point goals, book level goals, and an accuracy goal of 85%. Encourage reading for pleasure!
