To join, click to download the membership form, fill it out and mail to Welch Elementary. Please make all checks out to the "Welch PTA" and include your child's teacher on this form.
"Why should I join PTA?"
- Joining the PTA benefits your child. It lets them know you are a partner in their education. Your membership card will allow you to receive many discounts in Atlanta and with many different companies.
- PTA is the largest child advocacy group, with about 7 million members. We do make a difference. School nurses are in our schools because of the PTA!
- WES PTA loves the KIDS at WES! We show them how important they are by providing special events and purchasing items needed at Welch and in the classrooms.
- PTA provides its members with a way to share their concerns, experiences and knowledge about children and youth. We also offer enriching programs and activities for our members.
Three Membership Levels:
Gold Dust PTA Membership $5
Your $5.00 donation entitles you to one membership. With your membership, you will have voting privileges at each general body meeting.
Gold Nugget PTA Membership $25
Your $25.00 donation entitles you to two memberships, all of the membership benefits listed above plus one WES car magnet and an honorable mention in our Yearbook.
Gold Bar PTA Membership $50
Your $50.00 donation entitles you to two memberships, all of the benefits listed above, two WES car magnets and an honorable mention in our Yearbook.
Membership FAQ's
Will I have to volunteer for something?
Members are not required to volunteer for something when they join the PTA. However, we do encourage
members to participate in events and activities whenever they can! Check out our Volunteer page for Volunteer
opportunities.
When are PTA meetings held?
PTA meetings are held once a month in the cafeteria usually at 6:15pm. Meetings last about 15 minutes
and are typically followed by a musical program by a different grade level each month. Check our Calendar
for dates and information.
Do I have to attend PTA meetings?
Members are not required to attend PTA meetings, however, it is recommended that members attend as
often as they can in order to be up to date on information relevant to the education of the students at
Welch. In addition, a quorum is required to pass certain items of business, so having as many members present
as possible helps achieve that quorum. Child care is usually provided.
