A Little Bit About Mrs. King

Mrs. Kings Bio

Hello. My name is Melissa King and I am the Music Teacher here at Welch. I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself!

I was born in Chattanooga, TN and moved to Georgia when I was 3 years old. I attended Gwinnett County Schools and graduated from Shiloh High School in 1998. Upon graduating, I attended the Unversity of West Georgia where I received a BA in Music Education in December 2003.

In May of 2005, I moved to Newnan with my husband David. I began my teaching career in Coweta County as a substitute teacher. After 2 months of subbing at schools, I was offered a teacher assistant at Burwell. In the summer of 2006, I met Mrs. Darrah regarding the music teacher position here at Welch and the rest is history!

I have really enjoyed getting to know all the wonderful students here at Welch, and I hope you have enjoyed getting to know me!
