ATTENTION: CAR RIDERS
We want to be very consistent in our car rider procedures as we move into such a busy time of the year. You must have an official Welch Elementary School Car Rider sign posted in the front window of your car. If you do not have your sign, you will need to park your car and show ID in the front office before your child can be released to you. This is for the child’s safety. Please review the procedures outlined in this notice. THANK YOU!!!
'Tis the season for crummy weather and feeling crummy. Do you know how to tell if your child is too sick for school or daycare? Click the link above for some helpful tips!

Parent Focus Group
SPECIAL THANK YOU to all parents who participated in our Welch Focus Group on Thursday, November 7th. Our Focus Group provided input for our Coweta County School System Strategic Plan. Parents who attended also rated our school and identified opportunities for improvement! We are always glad to hear from groups of people that rely on and know our schools – and you are a critical group that we need input from. Classrooms that had parent representation will receive a special reward (10 Green GOTCHAS) from Mrs. Darrah (Singleton, Hursh, Garris, & Steed). We hope to see more of you attend in the future!
Title I Compacts
Our students received goldenrod Title I Compacts for their grade level. Please review, sign, and return the compact as soon as you can. We understand that you may want to keep a copy, as it contains important information about upcoming events at Welch. For your convenience, another copy can be found on our Title I page. This page also includes a master list of our Title I events. Thank you!
Sumdog, www.sumdog.com, is an excellent site for learning and practicing math. Students can use the program both at school and at home, earning points to dress up their avatars. Many Coweta County teachers introduced their students to this site, and they report that students love it. Students like that they are able to challenge each other and students from around the world in games. The majority of the math games are free, and the site doesn’t have ads on it.
Coweta schools are participating in a county-wide competition! Click HERE to discover how to join the math fun!!
Sumdog Holiday Contest
Sumdog are running a festive math contest from December 6-12.
Students can play at any time through that week, at school or at home. It’ll only take an hour or so to get a decent score. It's free to take part and there will be prizes for the top school in the country, as well as the top school in each state. And to start the fun, all students registered for the contest by November 21 will get a special Thanksgiving turkey outfit for their on-screen avatar!
To join in, visit: http://www.sumdog.com/en/holiday_contest/
