Thank you for helping to keep Welch kids healthy! Remember that by keeping your children out of school when they're sick, you help to keep everyone healthy! Please refer to the chart below for policy on the most common ailments.

FeverIf your child has a fever of 100.4 or higher, you must keep them home for 24 hours after the temperature has returned to normal.
VomittingYou must keep your child home for 24 hours after the last occurance of vomitting and/or diarreah.

Medication Procedures during School

Whenever it is necessary for your child to receive medication at school, the following policy must be followed:

A school nurse or school designee may administare medication provided all of the requirements are met.

  • All medicine shall be in it's original LABELED container or prescription bottle.
  • Written instructions for prescriptiosn medication must be from a doctor or a physician's assistant autorized to prescribe medicine as how to administer, amount, time, etc., must be shown.
  • A written request by the parent or guardian must be made to the school nurse or school designee to administer any medication, and the following form must be filled out.
