The British Imperial Policy and The Stamp Act

The British Imperial policy was what Britain was doing to the colonies and imposing on them. The Stamp Act was one of the things the King was imposing on them. This law was passed by the British Parliament during the ministry of George Grenville in 1765.It stated that  the American colonies must pay a tax, or certain extra amount of money on all paper goods such as newspapers, pamphlets, legal documents, commercial bills, advertisements, and other paper issued products.

The Boston Tea Party:

The Boston Tea Party started when Britain tried to collect taxes from the Americans for the tea that they weren't drinking. This lead to the Boston Tea Party and I wouldn't say it would be a pleasant one.

On December 16, 1773, in Boston Harbor, three ships sat in the water bobbing quietly. British sailors on the ship guarded something special~ 342 chests of tea!! A few blocks away more than 7,000 citizens were gathered at the Old South Meeting House, by the disturbance of the boats. It was the largest single meeting in a meeting house that Boston, Massachusetts ever saw. Patriots were dressed as Indians leading a mob down to Boston Harbor with guns and axes in their hands onto the bobbing ships to chop the chest where the tea laid and the tea was dumped into the harbor. This act was known as the Boston Tea Party.
