Sleeping  Platforms, (Beds)

Each evening females make "nests" in tree branches for the night. These nests are made out of leaves and branches. The nests are shared by a mother and her nursing offspring. Sometimes, orangutans use a leaf as a "roof" to protect it from the rain. Orangutans often nap in the afternoon after a morning of obtaining food.

Description

They have orange hair all over their body except their face, hands and behind. Orangutans also have brownish dark skin. They have very long hooked arms.

Fun Facts

Sometimes they can't hold on to branches because they're too heavy.

Orangutans walk on all four legs.

The cutting down of trees is why these animals lose their habitat and are on the endangered species list.

They also bend branches and make mattresses out of leaves.
