Candies Around the World
By: Whitney K.

Introduction
I chose to write about Candy around the world. I learned a lot from it! One thing that I learned is that there are more than 2,000 different candies in the United States alone! That is a lot of candy! I also learned that there are more than 9 regions of the world that have candy. Some examples are Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Oceania, South America, United States and others! I learned a lot and I will continue to learn a lot when I write about candies around the world. I will have several different paragraphs about it and reference to write about. Enjoy!

Interesting Facts
There are many kinds of candy! Some examples are mints, chocolates, chewy, suckers, taffy, fudge, candy bars, hard candy and much much more. In 2002 these statistics were found in candy bought that year. Chocolate: $13.1 billion dollars, non chocolate: $7.4 billion, just gum alone was: $2.8 billion, non specified candy was $460 million, and the total price of candy bought in the U.S. was 24.3 BILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!!! That is a lot of money! There are also many different flavors of candy also. It just shows that people buy a lot of candy at Easter!!! That's a fact!
Continents and Their Candy
All 7 continents have candy. I am going to give some examples of some candy around the world. This is what I have been waiting for. In South America 'Fabrica de Chocolates Rucamalal' are popular candies. They are delicate chocolates that melt in your mouth. In Asia Neapolitan Chocolate Bars are popular. They are made mostly of raisins and nuts. YUM YUM! In Africa theme chocolates are popular. They are chocolates, of course. In Canada Callebaut Chocolates are popular. They are one of the most popular candies in Canada actually. They are chocolates that come in a box like Russell Stover chocolates do in America. In the United States there are candies I have never heard of! They look like a spaghetti and meatball TV dinner but the truth is it is CHOCOLATE!!!!!! WOW! I never thought that there would be a spaghetti and meatball chocolate candy! In other regions of the world, Chocolate Candy bars are made! According to a tropical island chocolates are made up of rich dark chocolate that melts in your mouth! Their sizes can be as small as a peanut or as big as a brick! THAT'S A BIG CHOCOLATE BAR!
