The suffrage was the protests for women's
rights.
The Fight
It took a long and hard fight....but in 1920 women were granted the right to vote by Woodrow Wilson.

Susan B. Anthony,
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott,
Lucy Stone, Abby Kelley Foster, Angela Grimke, Sarah Grimke and many others.

Now women are athletes, business women, and SO much more. Women have all the rights men do now.
Odd facts
Many women were thrown into all women's jails.
Many gave them food with worms inside.
It was a VERY VIOLENT battle.
Many women were killed!!!
Some women went out in the freezing weather to protest.
In the Cherokee Indian tribe the women were in charge!
