Apollo 11
The Apollo 11 was piloted by Neil Armstrong and co-piloted by Buzz Aldrin.
It lost radio contact with mission control once the moon blocked the earth.
It landed in the Sea of Tranquility.
Neil Armstrong
Neil Armstrong will always be known as the first person to walk on the moon.
He made up the saying "That's one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind."
Buzz Aldrin
Buzz Aldrin was the second man on the moon.
He piloted the lunar module while it was landing.
Friendship 7
Friendship 7 was to be the first American craft to send a person in orbit.
It also let people observe how our bodies react to the emptiness in space.
Apollo 13
Apollo 13 couldn't complete its mission because one of its oxygen tanks exploded.
It luckily came back to earth.
