Queen Elizabeth II

Her Life in General

Her childhood

Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born in April 21, 1921 in London,  England. She had a sister named Princess Margaret. She studied  history, law, art, music, and horse back riding. She had a special tutor teach her.

She was athletic! (And the Princesss scores)   and like the rest of her family she loved the out doors. She became a girl guide (girl scout) at age ten. I guess she was a tom boy. Her father became king in 1936 when she was 15. She automatically became the heir presumptive.

Queen Elizabeth  married Prince Phillip in 1947. Her father died 5 years later when she was 26 in 1952.   She had a son Charles in 1947 and a daughter Anne in  1950. She was governor  of state while her father was at war.

She took the throne in 1953 one year after her father's death. She also had a son Andrew in 1960 and Edward in 1964. Wow! FOUR kids. She must have had a nanny!

She is the head of the Church of England, as well as several other things. She is the  first of the line of monarchs to make consistent use of television. She decided to allow a documentary on English royalty which was sent to viewers  world wide. Some viewers didn't  like the documentary because they thought it destroyed the monarch.
