Merry Christmas from Smokey Road Middle School Bands!
Since Mr. Boyd was out for the second half of the day on the last day of school because of his son getting sick, he wanted to personally thank everyone for the great gifts that he received! Thanks for all your hard work students!
Symphonic Band 2009 posted. Click on “About Us.” to view the results. Congratulations on everyone who made the advanced band, and to the students who are Principal Chair for this season.
Symphonic Band members are being sent home with their concert uniforms today. Please make sure to have them hemmed when needed and ready to go in January. There is a letter being sent home as well which explains how they should look. Uniforms will be returned in May with a receipt from the dry-cleaner or $10.00 for the school to have them dry-cleaned.

New to January.
You can Now use the band website to download forms and a current Calendar. Hopefully, this will assist you in staying better informed. We will also begin a new Newsletter in the coming months that will posted with new and upcoming information. Please continue to make recommendation on how we can improve our parent communications.!
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to budget constraints, we will not be able to have a jazz band for the Spring Semester. It is important during these financially tough times to make sure that our Spring trip goes according to plan. Mr. Boyd apologizes for having to make this decision, however, it is in the best interest of the band. Look towards the Smokey Road Jazz Band re-appearing in the Fall 2009 Band semester! |
