Tim Hixson - 6th grade Literature

My name is Tim Hixson. I was born and raised in Lansing , Michigan . My wife and I were married in 1985 and two years later in 1987, I graduated from Michigan State University with a B. A. in education. Jobs were scarce at that time, so I moved to Georgia to accept a teaching position with the Fulton County School System. I earned a master's degree from Georgia State University in 1993, and spent 14 years teaching elementary school in Fulton County . After moving to the west side of Coweta County, I found the commute was getting too long for me, so in 2001, I joined the staff at Smokey Road Middle School, where I've been ever since. In my spare time I enjoy running, camping, fishing, and recreational shooting. I am currently working on my specialist degree at the University of West Georgia . My wife and I have been married for 22 years, and we have four children.
