Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Information
(Senate Bill 10)
Annual Notice to Parents: Senate Bill 10 as signed into law on May 18, 2007 created the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Program codified in O.C.G.A. § 20-2-2110 through § 20-2-2118 allows eligible special needs students to transfer to another public school, public school district, state school, or authorized participating private school.

Instructions for Requesting Transfers
Transfer to Private School Requests:
1. Interested parents should go to the Georgia Department of Education Special Needs Scholarship Program website to access the required forms, criteria, private school list, and additional information. Instructions for Requesting Transfers from CCSS Main Page.
Transfer from a Public School to a Public School within the district:
1. If a parent wishes to request a transfer to one of the schools in the Coweta County School System, he/she must complete the GA Public Transfer Form - page 3 and 4 and mail or deliver it to Dr. Marc Guy, Director of Administrative Services, 237 Jackson Street, Newnan GA 30264.
2. The request will be considered based on the capacity of the school building and or program, the class size capacity by grade and subject including anticipated growth during the school year, and the programs of service stated in the student's Individualized Education Plan.
3. A written response will be mailed to the parent by Dr. Marc Guy.
