Who are we?

We are a team of educators, administartors, education consultants, business leaders, employers, students, parents, and agency representatives.

What do we want to accomplish?

In order to assist individuals with disablities in achieving post secondary education, employment, and independent living we want to.......

  • Locate and build relationships with interested employers and business leaders.
  • Identify appropiate post secondary educational programs.
  • Identify areas of future employment needs for which individuals might train successfully.
  • Locate social, volunteer and other positive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to be actively engaged in their communities
  • Coordinate and collaborate to connect, support and serve individuals with disabilities as they move to a successful future in the community.

How can you help?

Do you know an individual with a disability who would like to find employment?

Are you interested in hiring individuals with disabilities?

Do you know other business leaders who are looking to hire persons with disabilities for a specific task? Are you a part of a club, church, community group or other organization that would welcome individuals with disabilities to be involved?

Do you know someone that needs assistance in becoming active in the community?

Do you know someone that needs help with resources in order to obtain independent living?

If you have a vested interest in transition outcomes of youth with disabilities, join us!

What is our mission?

Transition Councils exist to develop the linkages and skills in order to facilitate the transition of youth with disabilities successfully in postsecondary education, adult education and training, adult services, independent living, community participation, a specific job or career, and/or integrated community living.
