Welcome...
Welcome to Ruth Hill Elementary School, home of the
S.O.A.R.ing Eagles. I am pleased to be the principal
of such an outstanding school staff and student
community. This school year is full of exciting
learning experiences as students and teachers learn
and grow together. Our main focus is to encourage all
students to achieve high academic standards
within a safe and clean learning environment.

As we make a difference one student
at a time, we will provide the students with a
first-class educational program that promotes
academic excellence, positive social interaction,
and respect for all. Our S.O.A.R. program will
continue to encourage respect for Self, Others,
Adults, and Ruth Hill Elementary School. Limiting
and Directing is our schoolwide discipline program
and helps students to accept responsibility for
their choices so that all students feel safe in our
building. Our counselor is highly trained in the
Olweus Bullying Model. With this model in place, we
rarely deal with severe cases of bullying and
quickly diminish any situations that appear to be
heading in that direction.
As we strive to maintain a school of excellence
status in a premier school system, our mission
remains RHES - Realizing High Expectations
for all Students. We
will promote student achievement through data driven
decision making, individualized instruction,
collaborative planning, collaborative instruction,
academic interventions, and excellent professional
learning opportunities for all staff members.
I invite parents and the community to unite with us
in our efforts to achieve academic excellence.
Please take the time to join the Parent Teacher
Organization (PTO), assist with school-wide events,
or volunteer in your child’s classroom. Parent
Involvement events will take place throughout the
year, so we hope that you can participate. I encourage
parents to stay in close contact with teachers so
that students feel a common support both at home and
at school. Teachers are glad to arrange a conference
with parents at any time during the year.
As you browse through our school’s web site, you
will find answers to many of your questions. Various
links will take you places to receive more
information or offer support for your student(s). If
you ever have any questions or concerns about the
school or your child’s educational experience,
please do not hesitate to ask. Finally, be
sure to catch up on all the latest news located in
the “Eagle’s Eye”, a quarterly newsletter sharing
the events happening at Ruth Hill Elementary School.
