Welcome to
Poplar Road Elementary! I am very happy you have
decided to share your student with us. I would like
to share some of my background with you. I grew up
in Spalding County and graduated from Griffin High
School. In December 1990, I received my Bachelor of
Science degree in Early Childhood Education from
Georgia Southern University and moved to Coweta
County. I received a Master’s Degree in Early
Childhood Education in 1993 from West Georgia
College. In 2000, I returned to the University of
West Georgia to complete courses in Educational
Leadership. I became assistant principal at PRES in
July 2001. In 2005, I received an Education
Specialist degree from the University of West
Georgia. I am married to Robert and we have two
children, Michala and Bradley.
I began my teaching career in January 1991 at Ruth Hill
Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher. In
1994, I moved to Arnco Sargent Elementary where I
taught 3rd and 4th grades
until I became assistant principal at PRES. My
primary responsibilities at Poplar Road include
curriculum and instruction. I also assist with the
Student Support Team and oversee student records. I
truly enjoy being a part of such a wonderful school
community that is dedicated to the success of each
child. I enjoy assisting our teachers and parents
in establishing an educational foundation that will
produce lifelong learners that will be the leaders
of their generation. I believe the most valuable
investment any individual can make is an investment
in our children’s lives, please let me know how I
can best assist you and your child as you begin our
educational journey.
