2	Skylab The US launched Skylab in May 1973 at the end of the Apollo flights The Skylab with the Apollo spacecraft attached to it, had a volume of a three bedroom house
3	Skylab Weighted 100 tons consisted of 4 parts -
4	Skylab 4 parts - orbital workshop airlock module multiple docking adapter Apollo telescope mount
5	Skylab Made up of equipment left over from the Apollo program main cylinder built from 3rd stage of Saturn V
6	Skylab Orbit was nearly 270 miles above the Earth Telemetry soon indicated that Skylab did not deploy as intended and parts were damaged
7	Skylab Damaged included: panels were damaged and electricity was cut causing it to overheat which threatened to spoil food and medicine
8	Skylab After 10 days of troubleshooting the crew launched on May 25th 1973 experiments finding how well people could live & work in space - 28 to 60 to 84 days
9	Skylab Magnetic storms and solar flares erupted on the sun in 1977 & 1978 warming the gases in the Earth’s atmosphere increasing the drag on the Skylab
10	Skylab It sank to an orbit 69 miles above sea level on July 12, 1979 it disintegrated and fell back into the atmosphere 2 parts weighting 2 tons fell in the desert of Australia with no injuries
