Survival

End  of  Course  Trek

At the end of the Cadets survival course have taken a hike on the Appalachian Trail.  The hike

began at Neels Gap and went over Blood Mountain to Woody Gap for a total distance of

11.5 miles.   This was a two day hike and the group camped at Jarred Gap on both hikes.

The time spent on both days employed skills learned in the survival class with emphasis on

map skills using the compass and GPS receiver to establish positions along the trail.
