Choose the Link below, called Trenches on the Web.  Scroll down on the first page of this site until you get to GOOD STARTING POINTS.  Choose selected tours, then scroll down until you get to FIRST HAND  ACCOUNTS.  Choose Floyd Gibbons at Belleau Wood.  Read until you get to the first picture.  Summarize on your paper in 1-2 paragraphs what happened Floyd Gibbons.

Choose the third link below, BBC: The Great War- 80 Years On.  Scroll down the opening page just a little ways until you see the section called Soldier's Story-Letters.  There are 5 letters listed.  Choose 3 to read.  List the titles of the letters you read on your paper.  Describe the one that impressed you the most and why.  Did you notice a "common thread" between the ones you read?  Were they similar in any way or completely different?
