-Lyndon Johnson, President of the United States, 1963-1969.

This is an unique ADVANCED class; unique because no other high school in the state of Georgia has an opportunity take this class; advanced because you will be required and expected to do advanced thinking and work. You must be willing to READ and keep up with class work/homework in order to get the most from this class. We will be covering, in DETAIL, the history of Vietnam and the American involvement there, which is an enormous undertaking. However, we will be doing it in such a way as to bring about real comprehension of the American soldier's and public's involvement in this war. There will be many varied guest speakers that will come and discuss the war and give students a chance to interact and question them as to what their experience was about. We will be reading about a variety of experiences, we will be researching on the Internet and doing various technology projects about differing aspects of the war. We will look at the origins of the Vietnam conflict, and we will look at the results as well. We will be learning, but we will be having FUN at the same time!
