"You can kill ten of my men for every one I kill of yours. But even at those odds, you will lose and I will win."
-Ho Chi Minh
These are the instructions for each possible project that Quesinberry's students will be doing during the course of a term. The instructor will be giving more directions and answering questions in class, but these are the basic outlines to be consulted as students research and work on these assignments. Good luck! If there are any questions, email me below....just don't email me the night before it is due!!!
Technology Projects
There will be several computer type projects that we will do during the term, mostly in class. Webquests, PowerPoint presentations, Timelines, Publisher newsletters, etc... will all be included. We may mix them up as well, so that students will be doing different type of technology projects at the same time, perhaps on the same topic.
The Virtual Wall
(Will not be done every year...)
We will participate in the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund drive to attach a photograph and remembrance to each entry on the Virtual Wall. This year we will be attempting to find photographs and history's of the men that died in the Vietnam War from Coweta County. Student teams will be assigned men from this county that died in Vietnam to find a photograph and other information to post in the Virtual Wall. More details will be given in class.

Book Reports
Students will be required to read one book about a person's experiences in the Vietnam War. (Book list will be provided by instructor) Instead of a standard book report format, students will be required to construct a power point presentation. Time to read and work on the power point will be given occasionally in class, but much of the work will have to be done outside of class. Further details will be given in class.
Class Interviews
We will have a series of special speakers in the class during the entire term. We will prepare as a class prior to their visit- we will discuss their background and involvement in the war, then we will discuss possible questions as a class. These "prepared" questions should not preclude discussion and further questioning of the speaker at them time of his/her visit. Virtually each interview will entail a fairly extensive project for the assigned student teams, plus the class as a whole.
I will assign 1-2 students to be "responsible" for this speaker... meet the person downstairs and escort them to the class. Those students will also be responsible for taking digital photographs of the speaker and creating a web page to add to this site about the speaker. The information on the site should include one or more pictures of the speaker, plus pictures of his/her unit or something that he was involved in. A brief biography, internet links and a quote from the speaker should also accompany the page.
All other students will do a typed "lab report" on the interview, the outline of which will be given in class. By the end of the term, all students will have had a turn doing 1-2 web pages and done "lab reports" on everyone else.
All students will write a thank-you letter to be sent to the visitor as well, and we will keep an updated map of where all the visitors were located in Vietnam.
Veteran Email
Each student will be assigned a veteran of the Vietnam War to question via email. You will send questions to them every two weeks based on what we have been discussing and learning throughout that two week period. You may also email them at other times for help on any assignment or project that you are currently working on. We will email them, every other week, for the whole term.
Music CD's
Students will be given a music CD during different times of the course (3 total). They will be required to listen to the music and then complete a related assignment. Each CD will have something different for them to listen to and then accomplish.
