Sponsored by the Newnan High School History and Social Studies Department!

For the twelfth straight year, Newnan High School and the Coweta community has come together to create an incredible learning experience for the history students at our school. On December 14, more than 70 local veteran's came in and visited with our students to help them see the significance and relevance of history- to "bring history to life." We could not have done this without them! Thank you to the veteran's that visited our school and continue to support education in Coweta County!

I want to give credit to the History Department staff that helped with this project- Mrs. Fields, Mrs. Whitlock and Mrs. Quesinberry all helped with the set up, hospitality room and lunch. Mr. Gilmore ran the shuttle on Armory Road.  Mrs. Field's helped with phone calls and supplies.  Coach Morris did the sound system. Mr. Henderson did a good bit of recruiting, calling and troubleshooting during the course of the day.  Thanks to all of you!

A special note of thanks to First Baptist Church of Newnan and facilities manager Mr. Rob Muzio. If they had not allowed us to use their tables, we would have been in a lot of trouble! THANK YOU!

I would also like to thank all the students that brought food, helped with the parking and helped to clean up at the end of the day from Mr. Quesinberry's second and third block, Mrs. Field's third and fourth blocks, Coach Henderson's first and third blocks, Mrs. Quesinberry's fourth block and Mrs. Whitlock's fourth block. Some students need special mention because of their help that day and the week leading up to this event: Katelyn, Sarah, Stephen, Shake-n-Bake, Patrick, Matt, Nicole, Amanda, Sheala, and Austin.

Last, but certainly not least, our thanks go out to Sgt. Blackshear and all the staff at the National Guard Armory for working with us-THANK YOU!!!
