U.S. History

Semester Syllabus

Textbook:   History of a Free Nation

Bragdon, McCutchen, Ritchie (Glenco Publishing)

Course Description: This course is a survey of US History beginning with exploration and Native Americans and continuing through current events.

Notebook: A chronoligical notebook is required and will be collected once per nine weeks. It should have dividers for the following sections: notes, quizzes, test, geography, and special projects.

Homework Policy: Homework will be accepted on the day it is due or on the first day following an absence. Because each homework assignment is tied to course objectives and test, doing homework will improve your grade.

Makeup Work: Students have three days to make up any work missed while absent. Students should turn in any work previously assigned and due while they were absent. If you miss only the day of the test, then you will makeup the test upon returning to class. It is the responsibility of the student to find out any assignment missed and/or turn in any work due. Most tests will be made up during class.
