National Honor Society
The criteria for membership into NHS National Honor Society is as followings
- Juniors and Seniors only
- Weighted GPA of 90 or above
- Completed Application by Deadline
- Passing score on NHS Essay determined by Faculty Council
- Membership requires payment of dues:
- Juniors: $35
- Seniors: $45
Open Enrollment will be held in March/April 2018 for the 2018-19 School year.
The purpose of National Honor Society at NHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of Newnan High.
Members are required to attend all monthly meetings. Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 7:30 or 3:30 in Room 1130 (Turner)
Members are required to participate in monthly events that focus on Service, Leadership, Character, and Scholarship
Members receive a calendar for each semester highlighting the National Honor Society Events.
Members who are dismissed by the Faculty Council are not allowed reentry into the organization the following year
Members are required to follow all Newnan High School rules and regulations stated in the Newnan Handbook.
NHS National Honor Society has a zero tolerance for discipline referrals.
