Art Club: Meets Wednesday, 1/16, from 3:30 -4:30 p.m. in room 704.
Beta Club: Freshmen with a 90+ average who would like to apply to join the Beta Club may pick up an application outside room 902 in the math building. Completed applications should be returned by 1/31.
Black History Program: If you are interested in participating in this year’s program see Mrs. Murray in room 313.
Club Group Pictures: Cady Studios will be here Wed/Thur, 1/30-31, to take club group photos for the yearbook. Please make sure you find out when to report from your club sponsor.
French Club: Meets TODAY, 1/14 at 4:15 p.m. in the 9th grade café.
Sophomore Parent Night – TOMORROW, 1/15, 6:30 p.m., Main Café
SAT Prep: Sycamore Learning Co. will be here for an SAT Prep Class on Wed/Thur, Feb 6/7. The class will be from 3:45 – 6:15 p.m. here on campus with a cost of $85. See Mrs. Sweatman in the counseling office for more information and financial assistance, if needed.
Cafeteria: To qualify for free/reduced lunch, parents/students must turn in a new form every school year. You may apply online with the link that is on the NHS web page, (https://frapps.horizonsolana.com/welcome) or you may pick up a form in the Principal’s office.
Parking: ALL STUDENTS WHO DRIVE TO SCHOOL must have a valid 2018-19 parking pass! Student Parking Passes are sold ($20) year-round in the 100 Office. You may stop by before/after school or during lunch to pick up a Parking Pass Application.
Yearbooks: If you ordered a 2018 yearbook, please stop by the principal’s office to pick it up before/after school or during your lunch. You may order the 2019 yearbook UNTIL May 10 online directly through jostens.org.

Local Scholarship Applications: Applications ARE POSTED AND READY on the NHS website, Counseling Department tab. You may also access the page directly by scanning the QR code that is printed on flyers around campus. PAY ATTENTION to detail and deadlines! No application will be accepted after the deadline!
Yearbook Portraits: Senior portraits for the yearbook are due 1/31/19. If you did not take your portrait with the school photographers, Cady Studios, make sure you pick up the 2019 Senior Portrait Info sheet posted outside of Mrs. Landreth’s room, 106. It is also posted in the NHS webpage, www.cowetaschools.org/nhs, under the Counseling Department tab.
Yearbook Recognition Ads: To purchase a “Senior Recognition Ad” visit jostensyearbooks.com and follow the links for Newnan High and then Yearbook Recognition Ad. Deadline to order is 3/1.
SPORTS – Sports Physical Packets must be completed and turned BEFORE any student may participate in ANY sport activity (tryouts or conditioning). Packets may be obtained in the 100 Athletic Office.
Baseball: Try outs will start Monday, 1/14. Of course, all paperwork must be completed and turned in!
Cheerleading: Students interested in trying out for next year’s Football/Competition Cheerleading Team, should attend a meeting with Coach Scott on Tuesday, 1/15 at 8:00 a.m. in room 307.
Boys Soccer: Tryouts begin Monday, 1/14.
Girls Soccer: Tryouts begin TODAY, 1/14, from 3:45 – 5:45 p.m. on the lower field.
Tennis: Tryouts start Tuesday, 1/22. All paperwork must be completed and returned to Coach Scott in room 307 by Monday, 1/14.
Track & Field: All paperwork must be returned to Coach JT Brown in room 201 or Coach Jessica Brown in the Old Gym no later than the end of TODAY, 1/11.
Boys Volleyball: If you are interested in playing BOYS volleyball, there will be an informational meeting next Wednesday, 1/16, at 3:45 p.m. in room 305. If you are unable to attend stop by room 305 and talk with Coach Janet Brown.
Girls Volleyball: Conditioning will start Monday, 1/14 at 3:45 p.m. in the weight room. For information or paperwork, see Coach Raschen in room 1054 or Coach Janet Brown in room 305.
