2018 Prom Final

 ACTIVITIES/CLUBS:

AP Tests: If you have an AP class and are planning to take any AP tests you may start signing up and paying for them in the bookkeeper’s office. See Mrs. Pat Blount in the 100 office. The last day to sign up is 2/28. If you have any questions or concerns, see Mrs. Blount as soon as possible.

FCCLA: Meeting today, 2/14, at 3:30 p.m. in room 110.

PROM:  April 28, Fox Theatre, Atl
7:00 – 11:00 p.m.
Juniors and seniors who want to go to the Prom may sign up now with Mrs. Sweet in room 108. Payment and required Code of Conduct forms must be turned in at the same time. These forms are outside of her room.

$65 – 4/9 thru 4/20
LAST DAY TO PAY – 4/20 NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR!
All outstanding fees, fines, and lunch balances must be paid in full to receive your Prom invite!

ROTC Coat Drive: Our ROTC students are collecting gently use coats throughout February. If you have any to donate please bring them to either the CIS office, the 100 office, the 9th grade café, or the ROTC room 98.

ROTC Drill Team: Congratulations to the team who brought home four awards from this past weekend’s drill meet at Lowndes High School in Valdosta.

Valentine’s Day: Please remember Newnan High does NOT accept special deliveries from florists, family, or friends on Valentine’s Day.

ATHLETICS:  No student may participate in athletic conditioning or tryouts unless your paperwork has been completed and turned in.

Baseball: Monday night the varsity defeated Northside Columbus 4-1. Great pitching from Jake Martin and Logan Hudson paved the way for the Cougars. Wood Waters, Lucas Mapp and Jacob Blair added hits for the win. Last night they crushed Chapel Hill 17-2. Peyton Cooper and Anthony Darrow pitched the Cougars to victory. The offense was let by Will Wilbanks, Nicholas Crossing, Austin White and Woody Waters.

Men’s Varsity Soccer: 6-1 win over Sandy Creek last night to bring the boys varsity early season record to 4-0.  Goals scored by Angelo Sanon, Will Thomas, Alex Glomba, and Justin Sanchez.  Assists created by Dean Goad, Justin Sanchez, and Angelo Sanon.  Great defense by Giovani Enriquez and the second straight first half shutout by keeper Rad Wyrick.

Women’s Soccer: Last night the Lady Cougars Soccer team defeated Sandy Creek 7-1. Goals were scored by Maddie Cramer, Hannah Marriaga, Alice Marsh Willems, Ansley DeCenzo and Kaella Daly. The Lady Cougars will face Fayette Co. tomorrow night, 2/15 at The Drake.

Track: Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams with their 2nd place finish at the Landmark Christian Invitational this past Saturday. Our runners did an outstanding job and took home wins as follows: Tamara Blake finished 1st in the 100 meter dash. Kaylen Madrey finished 1st in the 200 meter and 400 meter dash. Tamara Blake, Markia Talley, Zahria Owens, and Kaylen Madrey finished 1st in the 4x100 meter Relay. Destiny Williams, Markia Talley, Zahria Owens, and Kaylen Madrey finished 1st in the 4x400 meter Relay. Janai Sewell finished 1st in the 300 meter hurdles. Josh DePeaza finished first in the 800 meter. Tyriq Hussie, Malik Hussie, Vyshahn Wright, and Emmanuel Williams finished first in the 4x400 meter relay. 

COUNSELING:

ASVAB: The next test date is Wednesday, 3/14. If you want to take this test sign up in the Counseling Office.

SENIORS:

Puckett’s Wall of Fame: Seniors who have a graduation, military, or employment plan for after graduation should stop by Dr. Puckett’s office to sign his Wall of Fame. We are proud of you!

Senior New Scholarships: Stop by the Counseling Office to check the Scholarship Wall for new opportunities.

Senior SIGNATURE T-shirts: Pick up an order form from either the Principal’s Office or from Mrs. Hodges in room 909. Last day to order is TODAY, 2/16. Seniors, please stop by Mrs. Hodges room, 909, as soon as possible in between classes to sign the senior signature t-shirt.

Senior Yard Signs: Seniors, please stay tuned for details regarding Graduation Yard Signs. We will have order forms ready right after Mid-Winter Break.

Yearbook: A list of seniors who have turned in their portrait for the 2018 yearbook is posted outside room 106 and in the cafeteria. Seniors who have turned in their portraits have their names highlighted. Please check this list to verify that you have turned in your portrait. If you have questions, see Mrs. Landreth in room 106 before/after school or in between classes BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS FRIDAY ON MID-WINTER BREAK! The list will be taken down at the end of this week.
