It is very important to return all forms given to you the first day of school, especially the GREEN EMERGENCY CARD and the PINK CLINIC FORM.
Powderpuff: Juniors and seniors who want to participate in the annual Powderpuff football game on 11/1 should see Mrs. Steele in 903. Heads up! Right now this activity is in jeopardy as we do not have enough students signed up. If you do not want to participate but would like to purchase a Powderpuff t-shirt, see Mrs. Steele in room 903 for an order form. All forms must be returned by Tuesday, 10/16.
SADD: Meets tomorrow, 10/16, at 3:30 p.m. OR Wednesday, 10/17, at 7:50 a.m. in room 403.
5th Annual Student-Vet Connect 5k – Saturday, 11/10, 8:00 a.m. Please register to support this amazing race and give back to LOCAL vets in need. Forms can be picked up in Coach Henderson's room 216 or you can register on Active.com
College Class @ NHS: Juniors/seniors interested in taking a WGTC Psychology or World History class at NHS in the spring should stop by the Counseling office for more details.

FAFSA Fridays: The 2019-2020 FAFSA is now open for all students interested in attending 4 year colleges and technical schools. The FAFSA is the starting point for the HOPE scholarship and grant. For assistance, please visit the Counseling Office on Fridays during your lunch.

Seniors: Please remember that counselors require Counselor Recommendation Packets be submitted 10 days prior to an application deadline. Packets can be found on the 12 grade page of our website or in the Counseling office.
Senior T-shirts: Senior t-shirts have been delayed in shipping. Please listen to the announcements on details when they plan to arrive. See or e-mail Mrs. Hodges if you have any questions.

Sign up for special testing in the Counseling Office or via their tab on the NHS web page.
Cafeteria: To qualify for free/reduced lunch, parents/students must turn in a new form every year. If you are being asked to pay for lunch now that the grace period is over, it means you have NOT turned in a new application. You may either apply online with the link that is on the NHS web page, (https://frapps.horizonsolana.com/welcome) or you may pick up a form in the Principal’s office.
Parking: ALL STUDENTS WHO DRIVE TO SCHOOL MUST HAVE A VALID 2018-19 PARKING PASS! Student Parking Passes are being sold ($20) in the 100 Office. You may stop by before/after school or during lunch to pick up a Parking Pass Application.
Yearbooks: If you ordered a 2018 yearbook, please stop by the principal’s office to pick it up before/after school or during your lunch.
SPORTS – Sports Physical Packets must be completed and turned BEFORE any student may participate in ANY sport activity (tryouts or conditioning). Packets may be obtained in the 100 Athletic Office.
Girls Basketball Tryouts: Oct 22 – 23 right after school in the New Gym.
Cross Country: Our varsity girls and boys won the County Cup this past weekend running faster than our rivals EC and Northgate for the first time since 2013. Congratulations!
Boys LAX: There will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing lacrosse on Tuesday, 10/30. Returning and new players should meet at 7:00 p.m. in the 9th grade cafeteria.
Boys Soccer: All new and returning boys soccer players should turn in paperwork to Mr. Willems in room 1105. Conditioning is this Thursday, 10/18, from 3:45 – 5:00 p.m. All paperwork must be notarized and turned in prior to participation.
Girls Soccer: All paperwork needs to be turned in by this Thursday, 10/18, and remember that it must be notarized.
Swim Team: Tryouts are this Wednesday, 10/17, at the Newnan YMCA/Summit at 5:30 a.m. Anyone interested in trying out must turn in paperwork to Coach Sweeney or the Athletic 100 Office BEFORE tryouts.
