Track Meet Wins for Girls

On April 23rd, the Newnan girls' track team competed in a track meet at Hiram. The meet was a region meet hosted by Hiram High School. Chalonda Goodman took first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.66 and the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.69. Ashlie Stewartson placed first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.53. The Lady Cougars took second place in the 4 X 100 meter relay with a time of 4:02.83. Canesha Edwards made 5'6" in the high jump, and Monique Blanding made 5'2" in the high jump. Canesha Edwards won the long jump with a distance of 17'7".
