Oprah's Firm Films in Newnan

On April 24th, television production crews began filming in downtown Newnan around 3:00 p.m. Before giving the cameras a tour of downtown, a few men (called "contestants" by one crew member) were interviewed. Also interviewed were Mayor Keith Brady, Main Street Director Linda Bridges-Kee, and other locals.

During the filming, participants planted flowers at the corner of North and East Court Square.

The entire project was kept secret because of a confidentiality agreement; however, one crew member hinted that the show could be some form of a reality show hybrid. One member's vehicle had an advertisement on it that read, "The Big Give."

Oprah Winfrey's production company, Harpo Productions, has a planned primetime network series entitled "The Big Give." According to Oprah's website, "This show is all about inspiring people around the country to do good for others." The show will challenge people to get involved and help others. Contestants will travel the United States fulfilling the needs of communities and their inhabitants.
