Honor Graduate Luncheon
The Newnan Kiwanis Club held the Honor Graduate Luncheon april 10th at the Coweta County Fairgrounds. Students from East Coweta, Heritage, Newnan, and Northgate attended. To be considered an Honor Graduate, these students must hold a 90 or above average in all studies in high school.
The luncheon started with a meal courtesy of Chick-Fil-A. After that, Kiwanis Club President, George Alexander opened with a welcoming speech. President-elect Jerry Walker led the invocation and Pledge to the Flag. Alexander than gave a few announcements.
Guest speaker, Reverend Jimmy Patterson, the pastor from First Baptist Church delivered a speech. He reminded us that our upcoming graduation "will be the beginning not the end." Concluding this presentation, Cherie Bell presented the "A" Awards. George Alexander adjourned the meeting with thank-you's and congratulations, and the students returned to schools to continue their last few weeks.
