Balloon Boy Hoax

On Sunday, October 18, a balloon shaped as a UFO was seen flying in the air. Richard Heene made the helium balloon, but when his six year old son, Falcon, apparently went missing, he was thought to be in the balloon.

The National Guard took five hours chasing the balloon around Fort Collins, Colorado. When the balloon came down, rescuers did not find Falcon. The continued looking for the boy because they thought he had fallen out of the balloon.

Later on, Falcon was found in the attic of the garage. The parents have been accused of trying to attract publicity to themselves in hopes of being signed for a reality television show.

The parents have not been arrested, but charges are anticipated. Heene said he would turn himself in if there are charges.
