I-85 Construction

I-85 southbound was closed from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on april 9 to April 12. I-85 will be gaining a lane on each side to make a total of six lanes. The additional lanes are an effort to ease the traffic and congestion often experienced on I-85.

the Department of Transportation is adding to and repairing the roads for the safety of drivers. The department informs motorists to expect lane closures due to construction. Motorists should also be extra cautious around construction zones. The department believes this construction will help all motorists in the long run.
