85 South, Out & About

85 South, Out & About is a local publication with a circulation of 30,000 readers. It is published monthly, and four of our students have been published in the work which highlights and spotlights the Coweta area. All of these students are in Journalism class and write for the on-line newspaper.

Brittney Weaver, who does public relations and freelance writing, had her article published first. She wrote about Newnan itself and all the wonderful things in the town. Her article was in the September issue.

Whitney Black's article was about Oak Hill Cemetery. Her article was the second one to be published. She did a great job, and her article is in October's issue.

Around the time of homecoming, Chastity Garrison wrote about our high school's school spirit. Her article revealed all the exciting things happening around the time of homecoming. Her article will be published in November's issue.

Caitlin Williams did an outstanding job in writing an essay for competition sponsored by the publication. She won the contest and will be awarded gift cards for her effort. Her article will also be placed in an upcoming issue. In her article, Caitlin discusses the transition of moving from Florida to Newnan. She explains how everything is different.

All of these students put in great effort writing these articles. We just want to tell them what a great job they did and say, "Congratulations!" It is an honor to have your article published in an actual publication. so we are proud of them. Please get some issues of 85 South, Out & About, and read these articles.
