Primetime Powell

One thing high school defenses fear is a dual-threat quarterback. With his outstanding arm and ability to evade tacklers, Newnan Quarterback Russell Powell has defenders shaking the moment he steps on the field.

Although Powell is rather small at about 5'9" and 160 pounds, looks can be deceiving. Powell's ability to throw amazingly and run like a running back make him one of the best quarterbacks in the state. Last season, he passed for over 2,000 yards and ran for 500.

Many colleges have offered Powell football or basketball scholarships, but he has not made a choice yet. Hopefully, Powell can continue to be successful and lead the Cougars to a great season.
