JGG
JGG is up and running for 2007 - 2008. The officers for JGG are: Crystal Cardin, President; Amanda Hawkins, Secretary; Jamara Parks, Vice-president of Community Service; Shakeva Tiller, Vice-president of Leadership Development; Olivia Teagle, Vice-president of Career Preparation; Jennifer Rogers, Vice-president of Social Activities.
JGG participated in the Freedom Walk which encouraged Cowetans to support America's troops and leaders. The event took place sunday, September 9, at 6:30 p.m. It started at city park and ended at the steps of the courthouse. The following students participated: Jennifer Rogers, Lakita Barber, Phylicia Brantley, and Allyssa Godfrey.
JGG participated in the Habitat for Humanity in Grantville, Georgia, Saturday, September 22. Students contributed to framing a house for a family. The following students volunteered their time and talents to this community service activity: Monique Blanding, Keshia Mitchell, Allyssa Godfrey, Shakeva Tiller, Ashley Talesky, Jennifer Rogers, Jessica Hicks, Jasmine Harris, and Taylor Jones.
JGG participated in Renew Our Rivers, Saturday, September 29, at the public boat ramp area near Whitesburg, Georgia. JGG members picked up debris and beautified the area with flowers.
JGG will have their installation and initiation ceremony, Friday, October 26 at 8:30 a.m. in the A.V. room. Dr. Steve Barker will be the guest speaker.
