Cougars Crush the Bulldogs
Friday, September 21st, the Cougars played a homecoming game to remember. Newnan trampled the Lithonia Bulldogs with a final score of 52 - 0.
Cougar quarterback Russell Powell ran for one touchdown and threw to Alan Bonner for the two other touchdowns.
The Cougars were only flagged three times for a total of 15 yards. The total yardage was 287.
Keandreas Wynn scored from the 11 with only 7:25 left in the first quarter.
Also, Sam Taylor added seven points, making him 16 for 16 so far this season.
Alec Ogletree blocked a punt from Lithonia near the goal line which upped the score to 21 - 0 in the first quarter.
Jarvious Mitchell scored his second touchdown of the night from the four, making the score 35 - 0.
Powell sprinted 62 yards to build the lead to 42 - 0.
Four plays later Powell and Bonner combined to cover 10 yards. The score was 49 - 0 with 5:37 left in the third quarter.
Sam Taylor added a 32 yard field goal at the 8:55 mark of the fourth period to close out the scoring.
