Dylan Keene

This week the student deserving of the spotlight is Dylan Keene. Dylan is a senior at NHS, and he is seventeen years old. Dylan's mom is Mrs. Keene, the ninth grade Gifted Literature teacher. Dylan was in his mother's class when he was in the ninth grade, and he said that he enjoyed taking her class and having her as his teacher.

Dylan's favorite class at NHS is AP British Literature because he loves Mrs. Britt, and he says that the class is challenging but still fun. He said it's challenging because it involves a great deal of homework and time to complete the assignments. He says it's fun because they have celebrations almost every Friday.

Dylan is an active member of his church and plays his favorite activity through the church. His favorite activity is Ultimate Frisbee, and he plays it very well.

Dylan is musically gifted. He can play the guitar and plays for his church sometimes. Dylan's parents cannot play any instruments; therefore, he said that he had to take lessons at First Baptist.

Dylan plays tennis for NHS He said that he plays because he enjoys the sport, and he really likes his coach and teammates. He doesn't play to continue in college because he wants to focus on his studies. Dylan has run cross country and played lacrosse.

Last summer Dylan took a trip to Cleveland, Ohio, to follow his favorite musician, John Mayer. Dylan loves John Mayer's music because he likes the lyrics and how well Mayer can play the guitar.

Even though Dylan has such a busy life, he still finds time on Saturdays to watch his favorite television show, College Gameday. Dylan's favorite person on the show is Lee Corso because of his antics when he predicts the winners of the day's games. Corso places the mascot's head gear on his head when he announces the winner of a particular game.

After high school, Dylan plans to attend Georgia College and State University, and depending on his choice of majors, he might transfer to another college.
