Kristen Wise

Kristen Wise is a seventeen year old senior at Newnan High. The variety of classes offered is what she likes about Newnan High.

Kristen has been looking forward to her senior year especially for the football games and exempting exams at the end of the year. After high school, she plans to attend West Georgia to obtain a business degree.

Kristen also is a second year yearbook staffer at NHS. She decided to do yearbook because she never knew what it took to make a yearbook and was anxious to find out.

Kristen's schedule for this year is: Teacher Pipeline, Spanish IV, AP Economics, and yearbook. She enjoys her Teacher Pipeline class because she is at Arnco-Sargent with fourth grade, and she says the students are amazingly smart.

When asked who or what has been her inspiration for doing so well in school, Kristen replied, "My parents have always encouraged me to do better in school and have rewarded my good grades. Also, Mrs. Davis, my fourth grade teacher made learning enjoyable, and she has helped me through the years when I have had trouble with school."

Kristen is involved in clogging, a combination of sped up tap and hip hop. She has participated in probably fifty competitions (about ten a year). She has been to the Junior Olympics twice, and her team won a total of one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Something people may not know about clogging is that it is not dancing in wooden shoes with big, poofy dresses. The cloggers dance to all kinds of modern music, and their shoes are cloth with metal taps.

Kristen got started with her hobbies of making jewelry and scrapbooking by being curious because she is a very crafty person and likes trying new crafts.

Other than making jewelry and scrapbooking, she likes to dance, watch movies, and hang out with Soyolmaa in her free time.

If she cold visit anywhere in the world, it would be Europe, and if she had to pick one place in Europe, it would be Greece because she has always wanted to see the beautiful scenery and culture of Greece.

Dancing is something she says she does very well because she has been dancing since she was three years old. It has been a huge part of her life.

Kristen's favorite food is pasta and any kind of Italian food. She is at her happiest when she is traveling because she likes new places.

Congratulations, Kristen, on being the "Stand Out Student" of the week.
