Newnan Cougars Wipe-out Whitewater Wildcats
The last Friday of August Newnan's Football team pulled through and beat Whitewater with a final score of 21-13.
Newnan finished with a total of 271 yards of offense opposed to Whitewater's 87 yards!
The cougars ran the ball 45 times.
Cougar Quarterback Russell Powell threw 15 passes and was only intercepted three times.
Keandreas Wynn carried the ball 18 times, gained 115 yards, and scored one touchdown on the ground on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter. Keandreas also caught three of Russell Powell's passes for 37 yards, and a 24-yarder from Powell in the second quarter earned Newnan their first touchdown of the season.
This first game of the 2007 season was coach Herring's seventh opening season win out of the nine years he's been coaching for Newnan.
