Reading Room

Atkinson Elementary has a new reading room. The room is decorated with scenes from C.S. Lewis The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The room is an old storage room. The entrance to the room looks like the wardrobe in the Lewis story.

The people who initiated this idea began with media specialist Martha Lee Child and teacher Jill Brown. The parent volunteers in charge of decorating the room were Kim Wright and Maria Bump. They did and excellent job by helping to expand children's imagination and providing this unique reading room.
