World Tennis Junior Nationals

Newnan High School's very own senior, Shannon Betts and resident of Newnan, Michael Browder competed in the co-ed World Tennis Junior Nationals Competition for ages 15 through 18. The competition lasted from Thursday, August 16th until Sunday, August 19th in San Diego, California.

shannon and Michael together beat Eastern, PAC, Southern California, Mid-Atlantic and the Jack Cramer Club from California.

The competitors played a mixture of girls and boys singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

World Team Tennis was founded by Billie Jean King at Barnes Family Center in San Diego.
