Cheerleading '07 - '08

Newnan High School has a very successful cheerleading program. Last year, the squad placed fourth at state competition in the co-ed division. This year, varsity will be competing in the all girl 5-A division. The junior varsity squad will be competing as a co-ed junior varsity team.

The new varsity coach is Mrs. Shay Mitchell. This year begins her third year coaching. Her first two years she coached the junior varsity team here at Newnan. She also cheered at Newnan during her high school career. Mrs. Susan Dohanich is the new head junior varsity coach. She was the assistant JV coach last year.

Varsity's first competition will be held in Columbus on September 15th. Their second competition, and JV's first, will be at East Coweta on September 22nd. Over all, varsity will participate in eight competitions, and JV in four.
