Text Message Alert

Many people in the education system are concerned with recent absences among students in school prompted by text messages. People are sending out messages that falsely predict violence in school. Through text messages, people are warned about false events and are told not to attend school. On April 21st, more than two-thirds of the students at a school in Maury County Tennessee missed school from such an alert message.

This false alarm issue is a serious problem that must be addressed in the school systems.
